
Traditional Feather & Fan Ensemble
This is a fun bath set to create, from the traditional lace pattern of feather & fan, updated with variegated yarn bordered in solid.
Note: If desired you can make the back scrubber in stripes of variegated, solid color stripes to match a good color sequence would be: *variegated 12 rows, white 4 rows, coordinating solid 12 rows, white 4 rows "
Supplies:
1 Skein Peaches &Creme™ knitting worsted yarn solid
1 Skein Peaches &Creme™ knitting worsted yarn variegated
1 Pair size 7 (US) single point needles
1 Pair size 7(US) double point needles
Tapestry Needle
Scissors
Cloths
You can border the cloth with a solid or knit all in variegated or solid. If you knit with a contrast border, create bobbins for border.
Cast On:
Small Cloth: 26 stitches
Large Cloth: 44 stitches
Knit 1" of border, either moss or garter stitch. Begin pattern.
Row 1: B4, knit, B4.
Row 2: B4, purl, B4.
Row 3: B4, *(k2tog(x3,(yo,k1)x6,(k2tog)x3,*,B4.
Row 4: B4,knit,B4.
Repeat these 4 rows till a border distance away from desired length, end on row 1. Knit border, bind off sttiches and weave in the ends.
Back Scrubber
Cast On: 26 stitches
Knit border of garter or moss for 1".
Row 1: B4, knit, B4.
Row 2: B4, purl, B4.
Row 3: B4, *(k2tog(x3,(yo,k1)x6,(k2tog)x3,*,B4.
Row 4: B4,knit,B4.
Repeat these 4 rows till piece measures 14-19" in length. End with row 1.
Knit border and bind off all but 3 stitches. Knit I-cord for 9", bind off and sew to opposite side of scrubber. Cast on 3 stitches and knit I-cord for 9", bind off and sew to cast on side of scrubber.
